So Sorry! The third weekend snowstorm in a row...We have to postpone again to next Sunday March 3rd same time and place. Bev and I had a chance to walk the trail last Monday. Ok, so it's settled. We are going to meet in Brunswick at 10:30 and walk the Androscoggin River Bicycle and Pedestrian Path then go to the Seadog in Topsham for brunch. I will be driving down from Augusta and can take 3-4 passengers or we can caravan if people want to have their own cars. The walking path is 2.6 miles along the river one way and we can do the whole 5.2 miles round trip or turn back part way. It's a paved path, so even if we have some snow before hopefully it'll be passable...Hopefully..we'll have to play it by ear...

After the walk we will head on over to the Seadog Brewing Company, Topsham Maine where they serve a HUGE buffet brunch between 10-2. I will try my hardest to avoid the brunch and have my favorite Asian Sesame Grilled Tuna sandwich instead...and sweet potato fries. And yes, Bev they have mimosas!

What a location! I love this spot, and the food is great too. We'll have to come back in the warmer weather so we can sit out on the deck over the Androscoggin river, but there is plenty of room inside  for this time.

Directions to the Walking Path will be forthcoming thanks to Evelyn G. If anyone wants to ride with me or follow me down just ask! Hopefully some of the out of townies can make it this time...Sara the baker..you were missed last time! And Evelyn B. and Carol too! Looking forward to any newbies too!

Good weather, the company was great and the walk itself was good..about 4 miles I think. We had three new members...all good walkers. Nancy all the way from Deer Isle, Bennett from Belfast and Gale from Brunswick who brought her sweet pooch China. The food at the Seadog was good but we had to wait for a table. I planned to call from the path to reserve a table, but when I lost my car keys I forgot about everything else! Oh yes..the lost car keys! After I discovered them missing 2 miles out on the path, Tom gallantly trotted back toward the parking lot to look for them. What a relief to see him in the distance swinging them over his head! He had found them on the seat of my unlocked car. No complaints on the food at the Seadog. 2 tried to enjoy their buffet with the rest of us oggling their plates and sandwiches, burgers, grilled cheese and nachos for the rest of us. Several were disciplined enough to take home doggie bags, but I was not one of them. The bloody marys were really good!

The European weather model has been more accurate than the US lately, and it is predicting wind, snow, and a big temp drop...I will happily join you next week.

Hi. No it's not too late for Greece. In fact one of my kids had to cancel because of a medical emergency in her family..so there is one space for sure, and probably more. You do know that it is a student trip with adults traveling along? Great if you don't mind the kids...adults wouldn't have to be responsible for the kids, but kids would be part of the group. Bev is also going..she's a middle school librarian in Bath. Here is the website and you can call me with questions on either/or both tours. If you are interested in Greece, sooner would be better..this week if possible. We are traveling with another Maine group and a Rhode Island group and sometimes there are last minute enrollments especially where Greece is sounding so attractive this time of year!... eftours.com/[masked] call me if you'd like. Gale, I will be going on the Walking Tour of Ireland, in July. I am in the Panhandle until the end of April. I read your post stating you are interested in the trip. Not sure if you have signed up or not, but I will be attending Ann's group when I get back home & would love to meet a potential travel mate. :)

Hi Bev..no school this week for you? How would you like to get together sometime? I have a few things to give you for our trip to Greece in April... your EF backpack, luggage tag and phone card. I will be busy Tuesday, but so far my schedule is fairly open for next week. I could come down there since you always come up my way. Call me and maybe we can set up a time if you'll be around. Ann

Sounds good. I'm available most days. Not making big plans - saving for Greece!

The 24th would work out better for me. I won't be coming tomorrow, really need to see my daughter. I also love movies, we could try to find a foreign one in the future to match our International Travel theme.

    • Ann R.

Hi Susan.I just wrote this message a few minutes ago but must have forgotten to save it because it disappeared! Sorry if this is a repeat. I saw a great foreign flick on Netflix streaming last week..It's fairly new and called " The Well Digger's Daughter". Filmed in Arles and just spectacularly beautiful. Set in pre-WW1 French countryside..A sweet love story and so beautiful to watch. Made want to plan a Walking Tour of Provence". Glad next week works for you. See you then.

Woops, my message sent itself before I was ready--showing off my ineptness with technology. I too like movies and popcorn and in my case would like to do so another time due to my prior commitment. I guess we will watch the weather. Cheers to all,

I am hoping to join you. I am having a party Saturday night, depends on how tired I am on Sunday. Also my daughter is going to be home on Sunday. So.... iffy response. I will meet to caravan but will drive my own car.

    February 15, 2013

  • Ann R.

Sure Carol..you can ride with me. Anyone else? I have room for 3 comfortably or or 4 squished besides myself. Bev and Tom and newbee Gale G (from Brunswick) will meet us there. The weather is looking like possible snow for Sunday..we need to watch that. But we can always go down for brunch anyway!

    February 11, 2013

Ann, I would like to carpool if possible. I could meet you where ever you like - Whitten Road Hannaford or what works for you.
