IANDS-SF is very happy to host two-time near-death experiencer Barbara Bartholomé. Barbara is the founder and director of the Santa Barbara IANDS chapter.
Barbara was a 31-year-old mother of two young children when, during a botched medical procedure, her heart stopped and she had a near-death experience in the x-ray room of a hospital.
With no loss of consciousness, she found herself witnessing, from a bird's-eye view near the ceiling of the room, the medical team below as they struggled to revive her.
She felt the presence near her of beings whom she felt she had "known for eternity." She also felt that they had the power to grant an important request that she made of them. Then she found herself back in the x-ray room.
After returning to her body, Barbara excitedly started to describe to her medical team details of their conversations and of the procedures that took place around her lifeless body.
Fearful of admitting liability, doctors and other staff who were with her during the bungled procedure refused to answer any of her questions or to confirm that what she witnessed while out of her body was accurate.
Faced with complete silence from all of the professional medical witnesses to her death and resuscitation, Barbara dismissed her experience as "unreal."
Fifteen years later, after telling no one but her husband about her near-death experience, a conversation with a friend led Barbara to research near-death experiences on the internet (which didn't exist at the time of her NDE).
Attending her first IANDS conference in 2008 led Barbara to solve an important mystery from her own childhood that explained the strange ways in which she was very different from other people, including her own family.
Join us to hear this compelling evidence of the survival of consciousness after bodily death and about fascinating after-effects that near-death survivors often experience.

There are monthly IANDS meetings in Marin County, Berkeley and Saratoga. Sometimes in one month, the same speaker talks at all four meetings and sometimes the programs are different. Check the north-ca-iands.org site to be directed to each meeting.
Around 1901 Franklin St., there is on-street parking, which is often hard to find, so leave extra time if you want to park on the street.
Garage parking is available at 1776 Sacramento St. two blocks east of the church for $6 flat fee after 6 p.m. at night. The entrance is on Sacramento just before Van Ness Ave. as you drive west on Sacramento.
Since it's tough to find on-street parking, the parking lot may be the easiest solution.
