Let's meet at the entrance on the side by the cafe. We can go through the exhibits and have lunch at the cafe or at the Prado if anyone would like.

Joaqu?n Torres-Garc?a: Constructing Abstraction with Wood February 20 - May 30, 2010

Joaqu?n Torres-Garc?a: Constructing Abstraction with Wood will include more than 80 wooden constructions, or maderas, largely dating from the 1920s to 1940s. The exhibition is the first to offer North American audiences an exploration of these innovative three-dimensional works, which include small-scale boxes, abstract male and female figures, masks and assemblages. A small selection of Torres-Garc?a?s oil paintings and drawings will accompany the exhibition demonstrating the connections between his experiments in two- and three-dimensional forms.

Artist Hugo Crosthwaite Demonstrates Beauty in Chaos in Solo Show at The San Diego Museum of Art February 27 - July 18, 2010

On view from Saturday, February 27 through Sunday, July 18, the exhibition will include the on-site execution of a new, large-scale work of art by Crosthwaite, as well as two works from the Museum?s permanent collection and eight loans from private collections.
Brutal Beauty: Drawings by Hugo Crosthwaite focuses on the artist?s rendering of the human figure. Crosthwaite?s figures reference baroque, surreal, film noir, popular culture, daily life and recent history.
