Sara has graciously offered to host this dinner. It's a share your garden bounty dinner. You do not need a garden for this dinner thanks to all the local Farmer's Markets.

This dinner is very creative as you get to bring whatever you have fresh from your garden or farmers market.

Please bring beverages to share along with your dish!

Delicious!! Sara was a fantastic host. It does not take a large house to host a party. We were super comfortable, had some really amazing dishes that I wish I would had more room to eat a second helping of!

I'll definitely be there. I'm bringing Napa Apple Slaw & possibly another dish or two. I'm undecided as to what they'll be, maybe a dessert or side dish, gotta see what my inventory holds.

Change of plan: Just in from the garden and my kale looks a little bedraggled so will bring a platter of marinated vegetables and homemade pickles as a salad or appetizer instead of the kale salad.

    September 26, 2012

  • Jennifer

I am going to make roasted tomato basil soup, fresh bread served with plum jam. TIme permitting I will make a salad too of fresh chard or kale and quinoa.

I was thinking of making chicken pad tai. Will there be a place where I can bring my wok and cook it fresh so it is hot?

    Is 15 the right number?

I canned some pears with ginger over the weekend, so was planning to bring a cheese appetizer using them as well.

    September 26, 2012

    • Sara

      15 should be plenty.

      September 26, 2012

Still can't get the hang of how to reply. I also meant to say I love pears! Since you're bringing pears, I will use plums in the clafoutis.

I am going to make stuffed baked onions with those huge, fresh, sweet onions from the farmers market.

    September 26, 2012

  • Sara

I am looking forward to this gathering! I thought I would also provide a dessert - seasonal fruit clafouti-whatever looks the best that day, thrown in the oven while we savor the rest of the meal.

Oh, and I think that I will also bring a grilled kale caesar salad, along with the fresh tomato quiche.

Kent and I are planning to be there.

I'll be there. Right now I'm thinking I'll make a grilled chicken salad.

Everyone, please confirm you are able to attend as we do have a waiting list. It would be sad if someone did not get to go in a spot that someone last minute decides not to use.

The event is at my place. 2021 NE Clackamas St, No 16.

Corner of 21st and Clackamas, in The Lloyd District or Sullivan's Gulch.

Thank you, that helps a lot. I should be able to make it without a problem.

I like the idea for this event, however I need info about the location before I confirm. I use TriMet for transportation, so it helps when I can get somewhere easily.

Where are you located as you may be able to carpool with someone?

    Hi all -

I hope you are all loving this crisp late summer day.

    Looking ahead to 9/29 -

I will be offering chicken baked in apples and cider. I think two to three more proteins would be good. Fine with me to repeat chicen. As for apples, I see no limits for these or any other seasonal produce.

I also think it would be nice to have a soup, perhaps three desserts, and as many appetizers, salads and sides as we can create. I'll prepare something else if we seem light in an area.

I will also have a couple of bottles of wine (red), iced tea, hot tea and coffee. Feel free to bring wine or beer.

I will bring Tomato Quiche (lots of tomatoes in my garden, finally!) and one more dish, to be decided later. Really looking forward to this, Sara!

I will bring something main course and proteiny. Haven't figured out what yet. See what's available at the market that morning

Yeah, the garden is starting to produce nicely. We have had Fava Beans and Snow peas earlier. Now the tomatoes, lettuce, runner beans, beets and summer squashes are being harvested. Fennel, corn and winter squash still have some time before harvest. Who knows what will be plentiful at the end of September.

We are just planting the garden. Fava beans and snow peas are up. SO are 11 types of tomatoes, but they are under lights still. Ready to go in the portable greenhouse we just put together today. Lots more seeds in pots...this is such a great time of year!
