Ethiopian dinner

Perhaps begin with baked, filled triangular pastry & other appetizers. Cover your plate with a round, thin piece of fermented teff bread, spoon on various stews and salads, break off bits of the bread to use as scoops and enjoy a meal eaten with fingers! Sip hot spiced Ethiopian tea and potent, home made honey wine. Top off with sweet desserts. Pat tummy!

Sydney has graciously offered to host this. The address will be emailed out a few days before the event. Please post what you will be bringing and confirm your RSVP.  Note this is being held on a Friday night, not Saturday.

I SO wanted to come, but my niece is unexpectedly arriving on Friday from NYC and that's the only chance we have to visit. Sorry for the late cancellation notice...

I just made my own berbere (famous Ethiopian spice blend) from a recipe by Marcus Samuelsson. Will be making Doro Wat Chicken shortly... if it turns out good... that will be my potluck dish!

LC, I will make the Doro Wat Chicken. I love all the spices that are in the recipie. All the countries that are on the spice road have such great dishes.

Okay - I'm joining the confused and making and offer ...
    Do we have a date?
My brother and sister-in-law where I live have offered their place for this event. This is not a large place and it looks like there are 20 something people who have RSVP'ed so it will be close - but that could be a good thing. We live between Powell and Holgate off Milwaukee. What do you say?
