Yes, TaKeTiNa relies primarily on vibration at the level of rhythm. Using the body as an instrument - participants are guided through various rhythmic journeys layering voice, footsteps, and claps into complex polyrhythms that expand our capacity for simultaneous perception, opening awareness into patterns that inhibit our lives and relationships. The process is supported by facilitators playing a deep booming bass drum and droning instrument called berimbau.
Sound, but especially rhythm-related activities that expand consciousness and build community
I am a facilitator of TaKeTiNa - a meditative wellness modality using rhythm in the body.
Hello. I'm a facilitator of the TaKeTiNa rhythm meditation process. And as co-founder of DrumRise I teach West African drumming and facilitate drum and rhythm events that promote community and health and wellness.
