Destination Germany Oktoberfest

There is more to Oktoberfest then pretzels and beer! Celebrate the true meaning of this famous German tradition with Atlanta's leading nonprofit organizations, Young Leaders of World Affairs Council and Go Eat Give. Explore German traditions, cuisine and music in an intimate Bavarian style setting right here in Georgia. The Oktoberfest themed event will feature food, speaker, music and of course, German beer!

Kurt's Bistro owner Kurt Eisele arrived in this country with his wife, Vreny in 1965 with dreams of bringing his European influence to the kitchens of Georgia. The family-run restaurant has been around for over 25 years and serves authentic dishes in a cozy ambiance. Kurt's has been consistently rated one of the best European restaurants in Atlanta.

A traditional Oktoberfest buffet will include - Authentic Soft Pretzels, Artisan Mixed Greens, Grilled Bavarian Sausages, Roast Chicken, Riesling Sauerkraut, Braised Red Cabbage, German Potato Salad, Spätzle, and Apple Strudel Bites. Enjoy $3 Schnapps as well as imported German beer and wine specials.

Hear from guest speaker Miriam Bruns, Director at Goethe Zentrum Atlanta (German Cultural Center). The center promotes international cultural cooperation and plays a large role in building bridges of understanding, and in conveying the appropriate image of modern Germany. Ms Bruns will give a presentation about the significance of Oktoberfest and share some aspects of German culture that you probably didn't know about.

Duo Sherri and Larry will perform a variety of LIVE music from Ethnic Polkas and Waltzes to Country and Oldies.

The festivities will also include German music, Polaroid booth, prizes and more!

Tickets are $30 per person which include dinner, tax, tips, speaker, entertainment and free parking. Cash bar. Portion of proceeds will benefit the two Atlanta-based nonprofit organizations, Go Eat Give and The World Affairs Council of Atlanta Young Leaders
