Context Over Content - How to respect your social platform, with Amy Elderkin

We all know social media is important, and it's likely at this point in 2014 that you no longer require a "reason why" you should be active online. As marketers however, we have a tendency to figure out one way of doing something that works, and then killing that thing so that it no longer works for anyone!

This won't cut it anymore. Social media and online marketing is changing faster than we can keep up. It's time to get focused on not just content, but context. We'll discuss the most popular platforms for particular demographics, how they're being used, and how you can better cater your content to each platform, which will result in more engagement, increased brand recognition and increased sales over time.

Please come prepared with your questions about your personal business struggles on social platforms for dialogue that is specific to your situation.

In this presentation you will discover:

• Why content AND context are so important

• Top 6 social platforms right now and who are using them (twitter, facebook, instagram, Google+, pinterest, Youtube)

• Typical mistakes made by our industry online

• How to cater one piece of content to multiple platforms - the subtle differences of each platform

• Open opportunity for social media questions and discussion

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
