Re: BEEKn and Beacons, very interesting. A (hopefully humorous) thought on the bacon-beacon: As with many things tech: just because one can do does not necessarily mean one should do. ;-)

    1 · April 10, 2014

    • Alex

I will never look at bacon the same way.

Thanks Ian for bringing this group together. It was helpful, informative & interesting. It's always helpful & inspiring to meet others who are trying to change the world. If anyone is looking to 1) market a digital health technology or 2) has an interest in helping a fintech get to market I would love to connect. Look forward to the next Meetup

    April 10, 2014

    • Alex

Do tell more about fintech. Msg me and we'll take it from there.

  • Frank P

Awesome Meetup! The venue was perfect for the intimate discussion of IOT, as a beginner interested in the space I was thoroughly impressed. Great to meet you all!

Great presentations. Loved the talk on beacons.

You learn something new everyday. Great pitch for a solution to a rather annoying problem and quite the educational presentation on the beacon technologies. Good to meet those whom I have met, everybody had really interesting inputs. Great kick off, hoping to see a lot more of these kind of events.

    April 9, 2014

  • Scott G.

Great kick off. It was a pleasure meeting some of you tonight :)

Ian (et al.) If there are no objections, Chris Laurin can come as my guest. I tried doing a +1 on my RSVP but could not do so. Tx: JohnJ

Wish I could make it, but in the interest of not getting you all sick, i'm going to have to skip this one.

    April 9, 2014

  • Hadi M.

Due to several things I can't attend the session. Sorry for my late notice..

    April 9, 2014

  • chris david l.

Hi Ian, I just joined the waiting list but intend to show up anyway in case there is space

    April 9, 2014

  • Fred W.

Is there parking on-site? If not, is there free parking nearby?

    April 9, 2014

    • Ian P.

Hi Fred, there is free parking on king but that's not a sure bet, there is paid parking behind the REN but not sure of the rate, that's where I'm paying to park tonight,

      April 9, 2014

  • tricia m.

I gotta bail... husband/kid scheduling mixup. Opening up a wait list spot tho!

    April 9, 2014

    • Ian P.

      Thanks Tricia....

      April 9, 2014

  • Reinhardt

Sorry don't think I will be able to pass by as something's come up.

    April 9, 2014

  • Cecillie

Looking forward to it. Any specific theme of the night?

    April 8, 2014

    • Ian P.

Hi Cecillie, the theme was supposed to be a mix between wareables and beacons but now it's kind of a go with the flow because Karl of bionym had to be in California.

      April 8, 2014

  • Richard B.

coulda swore I signed up for this.. D'oh

    April 8, 2014

  • Alex

Sadly, I have to go to YYZ for a pickup at 7pm. I did change my RSVP to no. Someone gets to move from the wait list now, which is automatic first in first out

    April 8, 2014

  • Leon

shoot, for some reason I thought I RSVP'd long time ago ...but actually I am not even on waitinglist ....

    April 7, 2014

  • Alexandru M.

Are you allowed to bring +1.

    April 1, 2014

    • Alex

I think plus one should reflect on the actual attending 80 in that space may actually get near to fire code and everyone brings 80 + 1 thats 160 :)

      April 6, 2014

    • Ian P.

You have a good point Alex but not everyone will be bringing a guest and not everyone that says they are going actually show up. Guests should technically sign up but for your request I said that shouldn't be a problem. I appreciate your comments but I can assure you that we are currently sitting at a good number, The REN@41 has lots of space.

      April 6, 2014

  • Ian P.

Nymi can't make it now, Karl told me last minute so
I'm working on filling his spot.

Let's hope we can all fit in the venue, glad there is a cap though and of course I managed to get in. I am excited by the event and its subject matter, thank you for putting it all together.

  • Gabriel M.

I wished I could join you but have to be in Seattle. I hope you will have another event soon :)

    February 24, 2014

    • Ian P.

Hi Gabriel, we are planing on having 4 per year so as long as your a member you should get an email when the next one is announced. cheers. Ian.

Excited to be coming - and sharing a bit about the 'becosystem'. We'll give a run down of beacons and devices, 'bake your own' options, hybrid beacons and use cases. But looking forward to any suggestions for topics. Through our site BEEKn we have access to some good data on Bluetooth LE just not sure what folks might find most interesting. So don't hesitate to jump in with questions or suggestions. And thanks so much Ian for all your hard work and the invitation!
