Walk Northern Manhattan from Hispanic Society

  • Mar 1, 2014 · 9:30 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

We will walk northern Manhattan starting at the Hispanic Society at 155th St. & B'way. Hikers will see Riverside, Fort Tryon, Inwood and, perhaps, Riverdale parks. Then we will return via subway (#1 Line) to Port Authority Terminal. The Society's collection includes a work which attracted the largest crowds ever at Madrid's Prado when it was on loan there. Enjoy free admission at the Society.

As far as I went it was great. Chris and others had a lot information about the area; Hispanic Museum and Trinity cemetery were good additions. Nice people.

Thanks Chris for a delightful day. Really enjoyed walking under the GW Bridge and trekking through woods in the Bronx! The Biergarden was pretty good too!

We are so sorry that you got left behind. We realized after a bit of icy downhill that you were not with us, and we worried (I did until now). Glad that you are okay.

I got left behind at the restaurant, came back up and the group was gone. Sorry I missed the rest of the walk. It was really nice till then.

Guy: Any estimate about the distance to be covered and how long the hike may be?

My guess is about 10 miles. Of course you may drop out at any time and take a train back.

I will be out of commission for a while due to knee surgery this Friday so if you don't get a response back from me on other events, this is the reason why.
    Thank you.

This is a first for me. Usually just walk around the neighborhood by myself if I can't find a friend available when I'm going for a walk.
