The Government Attorneys Interest Group has the honor to invite you to its business meeting panel discussion that will take place during the Annual Meeting of the American Society of International Law. Although this event will take place during the Annual Meeting, it is free of charge and does not require registration for the Annual Meeting.
The purpose of the discussion will be to analyze the challenges faced by government lawyers in advising on international law in the age of globalization. The panelists will address a wide range of themes including the impact of globalization on the provision of advice on international law, the changes in the way that international legal issues are considered by governments, the interaction with national courts on issues concerning international law, the interaction between governments and other international actors (such as, international organizations, NGOs and individuals) on global issues, and how the provision of international law is being coordinated within governments. The panel discussion will be followed by refreshments, which will provide an opportunity to meet and discuss further with members of the Government Attorneys Interest Group on these or other issues.
If you plan to attend the GAIG event but have not registered for the Annual Meeting, ASIL has requested that you please register in advance using the promotion code "EVNT" (which should enable you to regsiter for free). A link for registration can be found here: http://www.asil.org/am13/
