This walk is an oldie but a goodie – especially at this time of the year when the daffies are displayed in all their glory! We will start out walking through the daffodils on Twin Oaks Drive then continue on the circular path around One Tree Hill to the mountain road entrance. Time to get huffy and puffy and placate the cardio conscience – up we go! We then descend and naturally stop by the icecream stand for those wishing to replenish their bodyfat supplies. [I shall bring my trusty thermos]. We will also call in at the Information Centre which has special information sheets about the daffodils currently in bloom plus information about other options we could include.
Then either explore more of Cornwall Park or head off.
Just doing the loop walk and climbing One Tree Hill will take approximately 1.5 hours. Adds-on could be:
• checking out the stunning daffodil display again
• follow the Cornwall Park Tree Trail
• check out the tracks on the right of the park (inclusive of rotunda and pergola)
• wander off track anywhere in the park (it's allowed)
Here is the site for Cornwall Park. http://www.cornwallpark.co.nz/index.php It includes a downloable pdf of the Tree Trail. http://www.cornwallpark.co.nz/index.php?s=4
