Open Source & IoT
This month, we'll be focusing on open source frameworks and tools for IoT.
We'll begin with a discussion about open source as an accelerator and means of non-proprietary standardization. Members will weigh in on what's on their Open Source IoT wish list (libraries, protocols, functionality), and ideal boundaries (breadth vs. depth and its impact on enabling IoT projects and ventures).
Whether you're pro-proprietary top to bottom, or an avid open source contributor, there will be much to consider, and spirited debate is welcome at IoT-NY.
Next, Artyom Astafurov of DeviceHive will share an overview of this project's approach to enabling IoT, connecting device, gateway, server, and client.
We'll also hear a member announcement about the Smart America Challenge, and how the White House is encouraging volunteers for an IoT project as part of the Challenge.
Reminder to include your full name in your profile, or in your RSVP in order to pass security desk. Please feel free to bring guests and spread the word, for anyone interested in digging deeper into IoT.
