The picture shows a M2M device for remote vending. It is in use at Dutch railway to open the door at public toilets. Instead of SMS the bearer USSD is in use. USSD is supported by any mobile phone. Even a 15 years old Nokia phone is able to open the door. You just dial the number mentioned at the door and two seconds later the door is open. In same time, the server in the background will charge money from your SIM card.
