Labor Day Picnic at Lake Ahquabi

IAF has reserved the beach shelter at Lake Ahquabi for a Labor Day picnic. We have met out there for a few years now and have always had a great time. This is a family-and-friend-welcome event - please feel free to bring guests of any age.

Please bring something to grill, drinks, and a dish to share as well as games or activities. The beach will be open for swimming and the boat rental facilities will be open all day. IAF will provide plates, cups, napkins and utensils. We will need a few additional grills, if people are able to bring them.

For more information about the lake please check this link: http://www.iowadnr.gov/parks/state_park_list/lake_ahquabi.html It's a great facility and there's plenty to do there!

Look forward to seeing you!

Teetering on going or not, if I do, what should I bring? Not sure on a dish. Anyone mind sharing whats being brought? If everyone brings burgers, we'd get too much protein. :)

JoEllyn--glad to hear you are planning to attend and thanks for the offer of a ride. I am the VP of IAF and contact new people about joining IAF as contributing members and will talk with you about the group. We had a new person come to the picnic and because there are people around NOT affiliated with IAF there was some confusion. So for you and others--the picnic shelter is where we meet and be aware that other will be in the area doing there thing. We respect them, but they are not always respectful of us. Any questions, IAF members and board members will be around to help.
