Introduction

Hi. I am a proud atheist and secular humanist. I enjoy discussing everything from movies to politics with other nonbelievers without fear of offending anyone.

  • Hi Amanda. Welcome to Washington Kayak Meetup Group. Let us know how we can help you. I am focusing on holding weekday meetups for those who have flexible work hours or who often work on weekends, like myself. There are usually several meetups every weekend during the paddling season.

  • Could that be Jews & Xians arguing over the dogland of Palestine? Muslims and Hindus fighting over land in the British Viceroy's India? Catholics & Protestants of Londonderry? Buddhists & Catholics in Vietnam? Sadly there are worse places where many religions, not just two kill over primacy. Legalize
Atheism everywhere and shame them all out of public favor. [masked] American Atheist Veterans, American Veterans for Equal Rights & Veterans For Peace, Larry

  • my favorite Ingersoll story may be in one of your many Col Bob collections: "In answer to the q, 'What do you think of religion?' I'm reminded of two traveling sales agents. The 1st, selling his balm, cuts off a dog's tail, applies the ooze & miracle! The dog grew a new tail. Not to be outdone, the 2nd sales agent, picks up the severed bleeding tail, applies his goo and miracle of all miracles, the tail grows a new dog! These two agents were last seen arguing over custody of the new dog."

  • if I ever get a great job or win the lottery, I'll return to Iowa and pay for all my suggestions to my homegrown Atheist peers, I suppose I could talk for hours on I. O. W. A.,
Dial An Atheist [masked], my US Sup Ct case, several US Dist Ct cases or just remind people of how many great Atheists and Secularists we stand upon their shoulders, I'll close with President Grant's speech of 1875 in Des Moines: "next great conflagration to be over superstition or corruption" today we have both

  • and I'm wondering if you gave a report to your assembled peers on the American Atheist National Convention since April? I'm most impressed with the huge library you folks have amassed. I did not see any titles by Hubert Henry Harrison, John G. Jackson or Stephen Perry their biographer who was a featured speaker & book seller in Elizabeth NJ. The Danish Cartoons were humorously discussed by Tom Flynn of Buffalo as many spineless book sellers danced back & forth accross the 1st Amendment line

  • nice chat with you in Elizabeth, NJ. I urge that you folks go to the Drake University Library & photocopy choice articles from the American Atheist Magazine... I think the collection is bound in leather from 1978 and to current editions.... I last checked about 4 years ago when I had some time in Des Moines.... the late DR Maurice Marc LaBelle arranged for this fine respect for the Apex of Atheism, the cartoons, illustrations and books reviewed on the pages of the American Atheist are priceless
