Important Security Advisory

Just another important heads up –

From USA Today, ‘Microsoft Corp. has taken the rare step of warning about a serious computer security vulnerability it hasn’t fixed yet.’ Those running Windows XP and Server 2003 are vulnerable - those running Windows Vista or Server 2008 are not. Users can protect themselves by disabling the afflicted functionality. More details from Microsoft.

Microsoft has provided a temporary fix here, or Meyer Technology Group has provided a registry file fix here. It’s recommended that one of these fixes be installed on all Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 machines until an official patch is released. (Meyer Technology Group managed services maintenance clients had these fixes installed transparently yesterday.)

Feel free to forward this to others that may be vulnerable.
