SBA launches program to help women-owned businesses

The U.S. Small Business Administration today announced the launch of a new Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract Program to be implemented over the next several months, with the first contracts expected to be awarded by the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2011. The program is designed to expand federal contracting opportunities for WOSBs. On Friday, the SBA will release instructions on how to participate in the program and launch a secure online account for WOSBs to upload required documents.
