This is the meet up to experience and celebrate Irish culture through Irish cinema. Our primary event is the monthly Irish Movie Night screening which takes place at the New York Irish Center in Long Island City, Queens, New York. If you haven't been to Long Island City, it's located in a beautiful Queens waterfront neighborhood, easily accessed from Manhattan by subway in only five minutes (7 train from Grand Central).
Irish Movie Night at the New York Irish Center is a convivial, friendly event celebrating Irish Cinema, new and old. There is ample opportunity before each screening to mingle with your fellow audience members and relax in our comfortable downstairs bar area where you can enjoy FREE tea/coffee/snacks/popcorn before the show.
Many screenings include an Irish short, we do it old school at the New York Irish Center. We've also showcased many new works including documentaries and features; The Minnitts of Anabeg, Breaking Ground, The Pier being the three most prominent.
Irish Movie Night takes place every third Friday at the month, doors open at 7.30pm for hospitality hour and showtime is 8.15pm.
