Climate Science and the Public: Are We Getting Anywhere?
Despite the conclusion that the current and projected increases in average global temperature constitute "dangerous human-induced interference with the climate system", climate change ranks low on the list of the nation's perceived 'big problems' - and naturally Congress is reluctant to act. Donald Kennedy, Ph.D. (NAS, IOM) will be on hand to explain how the disconnect between science and the public can be repaired on this matter.
Events and parking are free.
Tickets are available at the venue, beginning at 6:30 pm.
The lecture begins promptly at 7 pm.
Late arrivals are directed to the overflow seating area where a live video feed of program will be shown.
Reservations are accepted for guests needing mobility assistance and for parties of 6 or more.
Children 16 and over are welcome.
Visit our website to add event dates directly to your Outlook, iCalendar, or Palm calendars, and to read full details of each event.

II. Note from member Bethany Lee:
I'm currently in the meetup group, Going Green in Orange
County. I work for a company called GreenGo where we do sales
and rentals of all sorts of electric vehicles. We do something
once a month called Green Movement Awareness Days, this month
its Nov 21. I wanted to
invite you guys to join us. We have over 30 companies coming
in to
showcase their green concepts and products, between 11-5. We
have electric bikes, electric boats, electric cars, electric
skateboards, Segways, electric motorcycles, electric dirt
bikes, and more. We'll also have organic clothing, natural
make up, sustainable architecture, and a huuuge variety of eco
friendly companies. Entrance is free and we'll have free food
and drinks as well as some speakers. Its a fun filled day you
guys may enjoy :) Let me know if you have any other questions,
or may be joinging us.
Thanks!
