Open Shop Day

  • IsGood Woodworks

Open shop day is a time to tour the shop, learn about our other shop sharing programs, build a small project, learn some basic skills, or just hang out, socialize and observe.

We always have some remaindered materials available for free if you want to try your hand at a small project or practice with the equipment. Help and advice with your work is available. How much time we can devote to individual projects depends on turnout, the nature of the projects, and who is available for mentoring. If you have a project that is complicated or may run into several meetups, please message me to discuss.

We start with a brief meeting to find out what people want to do so that we can make things go smoothly. About mid-way we take a break for light refreshments (provided), discussion about the collective and your ideas, and general social goodness.

We meet once a month on the second Saturday with exceptions for holidays and possibly my own vacation time.

For those of you who have been waiting so patiently for us to revive this offering, Thank you for keeping your connection! We are definitely back on, and will be expanding into formal (paid) classes and workshops. Please do not hesitate to message me with your ideas and desires!

    Hi Aiona,
I'm not going to be able to make it this weekend - I've changed my RSVP to no so that there is a spot available.
Hope to see you at the next one!

Thank you! But apparently spots are in high demand! :) Someone already RSVPd before I checked my email.

How long is the meeting on the 19th? I have a prior engagement for that morning 9:30 to 1:30 PM. And as I'm in Bremerton, it takes me a while to get across the Sound.

Looks like Nov. 9th is full again. If a spot opens up, please let me know!

Hi Aiona, The problem seems to be that lots of people do not actually cancel and instead simply don't show. If anyone does cancel I will let you know. Otherwise you could call at about 12:30 on Saturday and see if we have room.

Is there parking or street parking around?

Hi Kevin, Yes there is plenty of parking on the south side of the building

Hi John, I won't actually be able to make it tomorrow. I have to work instead. :/ But, have a great time! I did collect driftwood, so maybe next time I can work on making perches for my tree. :)

I have added a barbecue to the attractions, folks. I bought plenty, and I have at least one person to watch the kitchen, so to speak. If anyone wants to bring any extra treats good. I got it covered otherwise
