Open shop day is a time to tour the shop, learn about our other shop sharing programs, build a small project, learn some basic skills, or just hang out, socialize and observe.
We always have some remaindered materials available for free if you want to try your hand at a small project or practice with the equipment. Help and advice with your work is available. How much time we can devote to individual projects depends on turnout, the nature of the projects, and who is available for mentoring. If you have a project that is complicated or may run into several meetups, please message me to discuss.
If you miss signing up formally you are still welcome to drop in to visit, observe, and tour the shop. You do have to be registered to use the equipment.
We start with a brief meeting to find out what people want to do so that we can make things go smoothly. About mid-way we take a break for light refreshments (provided), discussion about the collective and your ideas, and general social goodness.
We meet once a month on the second Saturday with exceptions for holidays and possibly my own vacation time.
For those of you who have been waiting so patiently for us to revive this offering, Thank you for keeping your connection! We are definitely back on, and will be expanding into formal (paid) classes and workshops. Please do not hesitate to message me with your ideas and desires!
