Another great meeting of Island bay Toasties. A big welcome to our newest members Paul and Michael. Paul has already given is maiden (ice-breaker) speech and shows an inherent talent for entertaining and public speaking. Our impromptu session at this meeting gave some wonderful opinions on why we love NZ, interspersed with humour and clever on your feet thinking! Having fun while learning to speak in public is what we are all about - come and experience it for yourself.

We are so lucky to have a wonderfully warm and supportive group of people and to have newcomers arrive prepared to shuck off the fear of public speaking - to eyeball it, call it for what is and get on with it! Thank you Paul for an inspiring first speech. Thanks to Penny for chairing the meeting, Carol for giving us the low down on contests and to everyone for being there.

Great meeting last night -- well done Paul on a superb icebreaker, and to Carol for giving us the lowdown on Toastmasters Competitions. Good luck to everyone entering the club evaluation and international competitions later in the month!
