Twelfth Night – at Park Theatre

“Two worlds collide in Filter’s explosive new take on Shakespeare’s lyrical Twelfth Night.

“Olivia’s melancholic, puritanical household clashes head on with Sir Toby’s insatiable appetite for drunken debauchery. Orsino’s relentless pursuit of Olivia and Malvolio’s extraordinary transformation typify the madness of love in Illyria: land of make-believe and illusion.

“This story of romance, satire and mistaken identity is crafted into one of the most exciting and accessible Shakespeare productions of recent years. Experience the madness of love in this heady world where riotous gig meets Shakespeare.” – from the Park Theatre website

“Filter’s lo-fi, ninety minute remix of Shakespeare’s comedy infects the audience with the play’s celebratory spirit of madness from the start...You leave feeling slightly changed…” – Metro

Following an intial phase when I booked a batch of group seats located together for members who prepaid, this option is now closed. If you would like to join us, you will need to book direct with the theatre.

After booking, if you’re open to sitting next to another member, feel free to mention your seat number (and whether stalls or circle) in the comments below, for group members who might want to book a neighbouring seat.

Please contribute £1 on arrival (to help defray the approx. £100 per annum that Meetup charges to run a group) – thanks in advance.

In the days immediately prior, I’ll circulate details of arrangements to meet before the performance. We will have drinks in the theatre cafe-bar after the play, for anyone who would like to stay on afterward for a conversation about the play.

On taking my seat I thought that it was a definate mistake attending this 'show' and for the first 5 minutes of a 'rockstar' interacting with the audience I knew that it was a rerrible mistake AND then it all came together and was excellent throughout
    Shakespeare would approve

Very jolly knockabout condensed version of the play with a talented cast who worked tirelessly to entertain us. For our sake they forced themselves to drink Special Brew and tequila! That's dedication. Reminds us again of the wealth of artistry on our doorstep.

Hi Jane - just got my ticket sorted - I'm in stalls D14 which is a couple of rows back from you guys but just behind you. Are you meeting for a drink beforehand? Looking forward to it!

I don't suppose there are any spare tickets going for tomorrow?

    September 26, 2013

    • Jane

Yes Andrew there should be - it's a case of choosing and buying your own ticket with the Park Theatre direct (either online using the link above, or in person if you prefer). You'd be very welcome to join us. It seems stalls seat C26 is still available, and that will have a good view.

Sorry to mess anyone around but not got a ticket yet and I have doubts if I can make it.

Sorry to hear it Richard - you've not messed anyone around, at all. I'd always rather people RSVPed Yes and then changed to No than didn't turn up without warning. I hope you can make it another time.

I've just now booked seats for Richard, Stephen, Michelle, Lindsay and myself - we're in stalls B15-B19. Looking forward to it

Glad you can come this time Michelle! I hope you'll like the theatre as much as I do.

Thanks Jane. I am seeing Othello in a live feed from The National the day before, so let's make it two in a row methinks!
