Presentations were very informative. there was an opportunity for manufacturers and the IEC to discuss possibilities of applications of smart grid to the ISraeli electric network but it wass not carried out. As was mentioned at the meeting, IEC uses mainly reactive planning not strategic planning. Higher percentages of the electricity in the near future will be from renewable sources and as Dan Weinstock pointed out, this requires smart grid technology to better manage coupling of renewable energy to the grid. A road map of using smart grid technologies for better use of renewable energy needs to be defined now, trasparent to Israeli smart grid manufacturers to better integraste their products into the local market. The Israel SmartEneregy Association can play an important role here.

Will this meetup be at C-level talk or it will actually have technical presentations (not just overview..)?

    January 23, 2013

    • Elad S.

Current plans are c-level talks, but if there is enough interest and audience, we are glad to set also technical presentations.

  • David S.

The subjects of all the talks were interesting.
I think we should have a smaller number of speakers and allow time for more in-depth presentations and discussions.

I think that it is the same problem like the integration of all other small elctricity providers into the grid...

" Smart grid technologies are often portrayed as being vital to the efforts to increase renewable energy production, yet this aspect of the smart grid is the least developed.

Pike Research anticipates that this situation will change over the next several years, creating a significant expansion of the market opportunity for smart grid technologies that enable the integration of renewables. "
