I speak lots of Italian, but am not good at the grammar. When I am in Italy people tell me that I speak it so well. I always tell them that I speak lots of Italian but I don't speak it very well. I have studied from books, tapes, cd but mostly learned it in the streets with a language book in my hand. When I travel to Italy I always have a box of vocabulary cards with me.They are great conversation starters. The people are so helpful when I ask them how to pronounce something in Italian.
Stationed in Italy during my Navy days. Lived in Gaeta and Sperlonga from late 1970 till Jan 75. After raising a family I started going back to Italy in 2002. I have spent a month there in 02 traveling with my then 15 year old daughter, a month in Florence in 04, month in Rome in 05, month in Pescara in 09, and month in Sicily in 10. Can't wait to get back.
I just want to get together and talk Italian and learn more of the language.
I live in Wisconsin in summer and in Orlando area in the winter. I am 63, three grown children, happily married but my wife doesn't share my love of Italy. I study Italian almost every day. Want to use it more. I'm having trouble loading a photo.
