1st Annual Charlotte Regional Bocce Tournament

The Christopher Columbus Italian Club of Charlotte is looking for 5 more teams to enter our regional bocce tournament on July 12th at Nevin Park in Charlotte.  The top 3 teams will advance to the state tournament to compete against the winning teams from Raleigh, Winston-Salem, and Valdese on September 27th in Winston-Salem.  Entry fee is $40 for a 4-person team and covers the entry fee for the state tournament should you advance.  Raffaldini Vineyards and Bocce Amici Piemonte are sponsoring the state event and are awarding prizes of $300 (1st place), $200 (2nd place), and $100 (3rd place).  Please email [masked] for more information including an event flyer and registration form.  More information can also be found on the club's Facebook page.

    Kellie, it's a really easy game to play! Think lawn bowling crossed with curling if that makes any sense. We usually have a club tournament every April at Marion Diehl Rec Center and some of us have started to get together at McAlpine Creek Walkway near Mama Ricottas to practice, where they have 2 lighted courts.
