Well it found me! I had found the meet up site and joined another group. However, this poped up in my email and here I am.
My father's side is from Lazio, by Latina. My mother's side is from Priverno just north of Naples. My parents immgrated to Rochester, NY with their familes, found each other while working for a company called Fashion Park, which later became Hickey Freeman. And thats how I came to be. I often kidded my parents they thought they must of hit California and stopped off in Rochester, NY when they saw Lake Ontario there. Nice area, but way too cold in Upstate NY.
Love Sunday Dinners or the feel of having close friends in one spot as we tell stories, eat, drink, and then have dessert. Parents moved here also, so we still have the Sunday feast with family. As I look back to the area I grew up in, all the names of people I knew were Italian. I go to face book and see my old freinds in NY, all Italian! Here, not so much :( it'd not bad by any means, but I grew up Italian. Events, name one and I'll be there. Thats My wife in the photo. She's not Italian, but she's a fire cracker like an Italian, but as an Irish lass. Friday and Saturday nights are our times out on the town. We've been to all the regular locations, but be fun to meet the Italian - Americans In Charlotte!
Hello, I'm a 2nd genertion Italian. My parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents came over after WWII. My relatives came over here after the war in the late 40's and early 50's. The war destroyed so much, it was pointless to stay. So Ellis Island it was!
