Learn To Speak "Eye-talian" for Beginners

The ONLY place in Las Cruces to learn Italian and hear Opera for free!  As our town has grown, so has the pool of talent from other cities who can speak the lingo. There will be (an) Opera singer(s) who will render a short performance to enhance the Lesson.

For the un-initiated: The word Italian is pronounced "ee- tal'- ee - ahn."

Did you know there are over 1,000 dialects spoken in Italy? But there is a standard Italian that the great works in literature and Opera were written in, and that is taught in the Italian school system. It s called "Toscan."

Whether you are planning to vacation in Italy, or just want to understand what the heck is goin' on in those Opera's, we will explore basic expressions, greetings, vocabulary, verbs (and what NOT to say as learned on the streets of Little Italy's throughout our country) in standard Italian. This is not "Italian 101" but more like ".01" for the real beginner. Like anything else we do, it will be fun and educational.

Interactive role playing, travel survival phrases handouts for those planning a trip and other materials for you to take away and study to improve your skills and build upon for the next session. In addition, a vocal duet performance of an aria by Al Chance , with libretto in English to help the uninitiated to follow the story line.

We will have a dinner meeting following @ 5 pm, place to be determined, if there is sufficient interest.

We will repeat the first Lesson from January 2013. Bring your handouts from that FIRST session. If you need the Handout, you MUST tell us so that we can have additional copies available. The cost is $2.00  materials fee to cover costs of photocopies for this lesson's handouts. Handouts are not required to attend, but recommended to follow and learn efficiently. No refunds, as the copies are yours to study from whether you attend or not. You can pay with PAYPAL, or write a check payable to Al Chance Services LLC, and mail to PO Box 4387, Las Cruces, NM 88003. Please inform us if this option is chosen so we may watch for your check.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
