This Columbus Day weekend, celebrate with fresh Salmone e Gamberetti Con Salsa Crema Spinaci (Samon & Shrimp in White Cream Sauce with Spinach). Learn how with Maria, then make your own.
A materials fee of $11.00 per eating person (eating guests also incur $11 charge) which covers all ingredients, desserts and refreshments. White wine, home made Venetian Rainbow Cookies, Espresso, coffee & tea included with meal. Refunds only if someone takes your place. You will be asked to pay in advance of event- about 2 weeks before.
Limited to 5 preparers. Eaters that are non-preparers, that have not reserved as Preparers will be invited from Wait-List where there is room.
If this Event fills up, you may go onto the "Waiting List" by "Reserving YES" in the event someone cancels, then you will be invited. If you are not a Member, you may attend as a guest by contacting our Organizer for an invite if there is room.
Italian cuisine is stylized by intensely regional and family influences. Maria's family style is Romano-Napolitano, classically influenced from the Mezzogiorno of southern Italy.
Maria has been baking, cooking and preparing Italian favorites all her life. She owned and managed a bakery in New Jersey in the early 90s.
Maria says "...the challenge to cooking Italian in Las Cruces is getting the ingredients available in the big cities."
Sauce Series: white cream sauces
Salmon & Shrimp in Cream Sauce with Spinach over Spaghetti:
Learn how to turn plain creme into delicious White Sauce. She will lead and direct you to cook and prepare it all yourself. The whole process will take just an hour. Eating time will be much less!
Bring your "significant other" as a "+1 guest" and while we prepare the meal, they will enjoy a film on Italian culture with Al, or listen to him sing Italian songs (in Italian). After dinner, we will all partake in Italian sweets with Espresso, Coffee, or Tea.
Take home leftovers, if any, but we doubt it.
