Swidjit is gearing up for an exciting semester and looking for some help to make it happen.  We have a number of different needs including UX design, video production, marketing and graphic design (full descriptions below).  We are looking for interns who can commit to an average of 2-5 hours a week over the course of the semester, and are willing to do informal (for experience) or formal (for credit as well) internships, as long as participants are reliable and stick with what they start (deadlines for formal internships are fast approaching to act quickly if you wish to pursue this).

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work with a local web start-up / social enterprise that plans on making big strides this semester and big differences in this world.  Working with Swidjit will give you a chance to put your skills to use doing something that matters, and something that will directly affect the people around you.  Furthermore, being involved at such an early stage, and being in direct contact with the CEO, you will have a chance to make a measurable impact on the business and product.  It will also be fun.

You would be joining a team of what will likely be at least 5 other interns doing various things.  For the most part you will work independently of them, but your presence would be appreciated at occasional group meetings, and in some cases there will be reason to collaborate with your co-interns.

Here are the positions we are looking to fill.  All are unpaid, except the first two if anyone happens to meet the requirements.

Position 1: Ruby on Rails Development
Desc: Assist/lead in developing new features and refining the existing one.
Req: 3+ years general programming experience, studying computer/information science (or related field), competence in Ruby, Rails framework & Javascript.  Bonus skills:  CSS, AJAX, jQuery

Project 3: Graphic Designer
Desc: Develop graphics/layouts for web pages, apps, ad campaigns, t-shirts, videos and other materials.
Req: Versatility.  Strong eye for design and the artistic skills to make designs possible.  Familiarity with, and access to, standard industry software. Bonus skills:  CSS/HTML, animation/motion graphics, UX design. Examples of work required.
Time: 2+ hrs/wk

Project 4: User Interface Design

Time: 2+ hrs/wk

Project 6: Marketing Agent / Press Liaison
Desc: Your job is to hunt down and secure opportunities for Swidjit to get its message out via other media outlets / organizations.  In other words, you would be responsible for trying to land interviews, articles, news coverage, talking spots, etc that will provide Swidjit with more exposure.
Req: Majoring in marketing or related field; strong writing skills & communication skills, assertiveness.
Time: 2+ hrs/wk

Project 7: Video Production
Desc: Swidjit will be producing a regular web series this semester to serve as part of our marketing campaign.  You will be working with an IC intern assigned to this project and together will divide the tasks required to turn scripts into vides on the web.
Req: Competence with several aspects of video production (filming, editing, sound, light, acting)
Time: 3+ hrs/wk

Project 8: Business Development
