Matthew Brown - "Making as thinking"

  • Apr 6, 2011 · 6:00 PM

Join IxDA Oslo for an exiting talk with Interaction Designer Matthew Brown. Matt will be discussing 'making as thinking', exploring some of the processes and methods he has used in his work over the last few years. Believe us; this is one talk you DON'T want to miss!

Matthew Irvine Brown works as an interaction designer in London. He obtained a MA in Interaction Design from the Royal College of Art, and has since worked for companies such as Last.fm, Nokia and Sony, as well as design studios such as BERG and Airside.

IxDA Oslo is thrilled to have Matt visiting us before he flies to San Francisco to start working as a designer/prototyper in the Human Interface Prototyping group at Apple.

After the talk we will have a short Q&A session before we gather in the student-bar for beer and small-talk.

Very inspiring talk with a somewhat philosophical approach to design, typical of the RCA. Having said that, Irvine Brown it seems, has a higher productivity level than the average interaction designer. Good luck at Apple.

He is definitely a good and charismatic speaker. The presentation was good, but not very interesting. My impression is that he postponed to come "to the point", so the most relevant part began during the second half of the presentation. I was expected a deeper technical insight, and more tips about his working methodology.

Thanks for Matt for stopping in on his way out west. He was very inspiring, loved his work.

Inspiring. Marginally practical though. But fun!

Matt Brown was a great speaker – could've listened for another 2 hours easily.

Really really inspirational. Great reminder to stay playful and explorative, regardless what you are working with.

Reminded me alot of the work done at university. Things mostly lacking in the workplace. Thought provoking regarding use of "materials"

Praktisk opplysning for kveldens arrangement. Arrangementet starter presis klokken 18. Pga.
