Going Lean UX & Service Thinking

  • Mar 5, 2014 · 6:00 PM

Ustwo and Designit are presenting two different design approaches and ways of collaborating with clients.

Going Lean UX by ustwo
Presented by Toke Barter and Mikael Lindh from ustwo Malmö"At ustwo we passionately believe in only building what will bring real value to the business and its users".

Ustwo is a global digital design studio with a 150-strong family of designers, developers and strategists based in New York / London / Malmö, Sweden. We create meaningful digital products and services that drive innovation for the world's leading brands, the next big things and our own product initiatives. Founded in 2004 by two friends, Mills and Sinx, as a'studio of dreams' – a place where people come to do the best work of their lives.

In this session we will share how we have adapted the Lean UX methodology to design and deliver Minimal Viable Products (MVP) for our clients, partners and ourselves. From aligning on a shared vision for a new service, to delivering solutions that really matter for the users and business.

Service Design Thinking by Designit
Presented by Marie Hartmann Director of UX at Designit Oslo and  Therese Hegsvold Borchgrevink who worked as a strategic design consultant and project manager at Designit.

Designit is a global design firm, delivering unified product-service experiences. Marie will share her experience working with Oslo University Hospital, using design to drastically improve the experience for breast cancer patients. The presentation will give an insight on how Designit involved both patients and hospital employees throughout the process, and the knowledge they gained from it. Speak ONE language, dont jump between norwegian and english. Learn to hold the mic correct for best sound. Speak load enough. Good content, poorly presented.

FWIW I'm an English speaker, don't understand Norwegian, and I thought the presentation was just fine. Other than the video of the Designit project, which was nice to see anyway and for which Marie apologized for being in Norwegian in advance, everything else was easy to understand for me.

Thanks for the feedback. My first time presenting with a hand-held mic. Lesson learned!

I'm sorry we didn't give the work justice. If the words were lost, and you want to learn more about the case, visit:

The English subtitled video wasn't ready in time. This too will be up on our website shortly.

Good to see everyone yesterday. And nice to meet you UsTwo!

Thanks for organizing! Enjoyed both speakers, and especially enjoyed hearing about the specific service design work done at Designit.

Does the talk kick off at 6 or a bit later? Just asking because I might not be able to make it promptly at 6.

Hi Michael, what Andrii said :) So I hope you can make the beginning.
