Great discussion topic, Jim! Thanks for the articles. Here are my two cents...

First, don't hit the Return key when you think you are doing a line break... Anyway, the six revisions article has the right general point, but perhaps is thinking too much about the details and the arguments are not fully sound (well argued against in the second article). The fact of the matter is, if we're comparing web design technologies and design approaches between a 13 year span, then 13 years from now, there will undoubtedly be new platforms, design challenges, and ways to solve those problems. It will likely have a new name. And who knows, our name for "the internet" may change by then. In summary, they're both right for different reasons, but I appreciate the first author for reminding everyone to keep looking forward! Thanks again Jim for sending these articles!

As a followup on the beyond gamification course, I found a great article tapping into game theories to design interfaces that help the user both adopt quickly and adapt along with it.

The book I mentioned during the meetup was "The Art of Game Design: A Book of Lenses" by Jesse Schell. It is focused on game design but the parallels between game design and UX design are great.

I don't think that would be effective...too many variables maybe? :)

I've done some of the course. You can't split it up.
      1) there's no grade anyway
      2) it wouldn't make sense

It's very well done though if you work in UX, Im not sure you'd learn much. But if you're interested in the field, it's a great immersion into it.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
