Station Mir :

"Christophe MONNIOT has been noticed for a long time as one of the most fascinating (and passionate) improviser musicians of the European Jazz stage. He equally proved his talent in the field of music writing, composing whether for a large orchestra (one only needs to listen to the Jeune Peuple Orchestr'Alpes - JPOA to be convinced) or for smaller groups like the trio OZONE or MONIOMANIA.

The saxo-composer, C. MONNIOT, manifests a definite taste for sharp, unexpected sound combinations. His rearranging of The Four Seasons of Vivaldi for a classic quatuor of saxophonists was welcomed by critics.

For his present tour of festivals, Christophe MONNIOT, saxophonist, created a new association with Didier ITHURSARRY, accordion, (who can also be heard at the Grand Angle in DANZAS from Jean-Marie MACHADO), and Guillaume ROY, alto violin, a rising player in the field of contemporary improvised music.

On Saturday June 19th, 2010 , under I-95, at the Riverside Arts market, during the free F?te de la Musique to celebrate the arrival of summer arrival, there will be a display table for Alliance Fran?aise and JSC Nantes Committee for our flyers. I hope many of you will come to enjoy the company of the French musicians and the special event Alliance Fran?aise sponsored for that afternoon. There will be a French jazz trio coming especially from France to play on the 19th and in Miami on the 20th. From the program that Dr. Wood, the entertainment program director, has prepared, they will play at around 3:00 pm. That evening, they will also play at JJCuisines, Liberty Bistro, in Ponte Vedra (A1A) at 7:00 pm. J.J. has agreed to prepare a three-course dinner for the members of Alliance Fran?aise, Sister Cities and their guests for a special price of $50.00. Members interested need to RSVP to me ASAP, so I can let J.J. know how many people will be present.

Many thanks.
