Please take the time, especially those who indicated earlier their interest in joining the study group, to do the poll on "When is a good time for you to meet weekly with the French study group?", which you can find under the list of "Latest activity" on our Meetup home page. Or you can access it by -- again, on our Meetup home page -- moving your mouse to "More" somewhere at the middle top of your screen to display the pull-down menu and clicking on "Polls."
I know some of you have already indicated their time (and day) preferences, but I thought this would facilitate deciding when our weekly study group should meet weekly.
New to America? No speak English? Want to work but you are afraid English no good? Want to talk in English more good?
Or do you want to learn French? Practice your French, improve it, or teach others who are still learning. We have social meetups and sometimes a movie night.
One of our other events is the weekly FREE workshops. The French and English languages in a library classroom -- but no teachers (they're expensive!)... You either learn as a beginner, improve if you're in the intermediate level, or help and maybe teach others if you're in the advanced level! We all share our knowledge and resources to advance in our quest to become better French or English speakers. That doesn't mean it's going to be serious all the time during the workshops; most of the time, if not all, we'll be informal, relaxed, conversational, meeting other people, and -- most important -- FUN!
Or if you want to meet people from other countries, this is one place to go to and learn customs and traditions of different cultures. You will learn, improve, and maybe help others to speak English and/or French in a relaxed, informal setting, even though the meetup (meeting) is in a classroom in a library.
The JAX French - English Exchange Meetup Group meets for about two hours in the Southeast branch of the Jacksonville Public library every Saturday of the month.
