Hello Dave - Part of the Detroit Jazz Festivals Community Series, this will be a truly amazing (and rarely heard) Concert; A jazz piece by Dave Brubeck (1969) blending the words of Martin Luther King Jr., the Jewish tradition-Biblical scripture, with Jazz, Choral, Brass and Percussion, a Baritone (Emmery Stephens) and Cantorial Tenor Soloist (Alberto Mizrahi - who sang the piece originally with Brubeck) ***and the Great Jazz Pianist , Jason Moran and his trio Trio from NYC***
This concert features:
- a 60 Voice Choir (made up of members of the Detroit Choral Society and Wayne State Univ Choir) conducted by Norah Duncan
- 15 pc Detroit Brass and Perc. Ensemble
- Jason Morans Bandwagon will play the first half of the concert with repertoire inspired by music of the Cilvil Rights era.
Please share - Many Thanks,
Artistic Dir. Detroit Jazz Festival
