JBoss AS7 Hackathon

August JBUG is devoted to JBoss 7. Again! Unless you’ve been living in a cave you’ll have noticed that it has just been released. There’s lots of hype, tweets, blogs and videos but is it any good? We aim to find out by hosting a hackathon to get to grips with JBoss 7.

Please note that to secure your place you have to register at

The idea is simple: we get a bunch of people in a room, fire up a bunch of EC2 instances and we try out JBoss 7 together.

  • No Presentations
  • No Marketing
  • No Vendor Hype
  • No Agenda

Just JBoss 7, Amazon, your laptop and you. And probably a lot of head scratching! MC’d by an experienced JBoss consultant we will get JBoss 7 running and see what it can do.

The number of places for this event is limited so register now - to secure your place!

Some things we might try (although it’s up to you):

  • Get it running
  • Mess with some JEE6 features
  • Build a big cluster
  • Try out the new Domain mode and run server’s on each other’s laptops
  • See if it’s as fast as it claims to be
  • Or just eat pizza and drink beer and laugh at the chaos

The possibilities are endless!

Please don't forget to bring your own laptop!
