You may have noticed (or may not) that the JBoss User Group
has a new group organiser (me).
I took over the group to stop it being deleted from Meetup as its impending doom was nearing and I thought it would be a shame to lose the group. So I discussed this with the folks from Red Hat and they agreed I could take over the group and they would fully support the group under new management with speakers, logistical support and perhaps Pizzas and Beers and if I can twist their arm marketing goodies.
Now I need your help, I?d like to arrange a Meetup in the next few months to kick start the group back into activity and I?d like to know what topics would be of interest so I?ve put some ideas below so please email the group [address removed] with your feedback on what you would like to do next.
Some of my suggestions for a themed Meetup are;
1) A meetup on RHQ/JON and JBoss monitoring and Management
2) What?s new in Drools/Guvnor/BRMS space
3) What?s new with Portal
4) Experiences with running JBoss on the cloud
5) SOA-P hints tips and pitfalls
6) One of the member?s better ideas
I?d like to make the format a bit more interactive and would welcome speakers from within the group to add to the variety. My idea is to get a Red hat speaker in to cover futures then get a few of us doing lightning talks to share real world experiences followed by a decent amount of time for beer/Pizza/networking.
What do you all think? This is your group so please help me shape it for you.
