Spinnaker Clinic - Day 1 - The Basics

In all of sailing, nothing beats the thrill of running under a full spinnaker. It’s like driving a silent powerboat! Once again Colin Jackson is offering a two day clinic for Jib Set members and Meetup members with sailing experience who want to learn about flying the spinnaker and the fine art of downwind trim. For Jib Set members the clinic is FREE and for Meetup members the one-time event charge is $129.00 plus tax. Attendance at this clinic is a prerequisite for using the club’s spinnaker rig. It is also a must for members planning to participate in other clubs' regattas in club boats. This clinic has two parts: Monday night in the classroom and Tuesday night on the water. You must attend Part 1 to participate  in Part 2.

Thank you Colin for an informative and interesting clinic, with some laughs too.

Great presentation by Colin of spinnaker theory as well as hands on of spinnaker rigging. Dockside practice was a great chance to make mistakes in a controlled environment before we head out on to the water for Day 2.

If a spot for the practical session doesn't show up, can I still come to the classroom session?

    Hi all,
I missed the RSVP date but I would love to go. If anyone wants to give up their seat, I would love you for it. Can you let me know at glennRMT <at> gmail . com?

    Thanks!

I'm terribly sorry but I've broken my foot. I could attend theory classes but sailing is out for me as I'm in an air cast. Ugh!

I'll let another member take my place.
