Macau Photo Walk

This time, we're getting our photographers out to Macau! A small city that has Chinese and Portuguese culture with many places of historic and scenic beauty. Just a short Ferry ride away from Hong Kong, Macau is a tourist attraction and great for photography.

The cheapest one-way ferry ticket cost HK$148 per person from HK to Macau. We'll meet at Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal at Shun Tak Centre at 10.00am.

When we reach Macau, there are free buses to take us to most Casinos. We'll hop on one to take us to any casino first. After that, we're free to explore the streets.

We'll have dinner early at 7.00pm and shoot some night scenes for 2 hours before heading back to the ferry terminal. Be at the ferry terminal before midnight for those who want to stay late. The ferry stops service at 12 midnight.

What to bring:

1. Walking shoes. We're gonna do a lot of walking on the streets.

2. Any camera with wide angle, zoom lens or phone camera will do.

3. A backpack to carry photo gear, change of clothing, water, etc.

4. Money and Passport. Macau uses the Pataca. So go to your favourite money changer first. Current exchange rate is HK$1 = MOP$1.03.

Note: We'll be out of the Hong Kong region, which means, your mobile phone will be on roaming. So turn off your 3G data line if you don't need it.

rain makes for great Black and White moody images. Makes for great reflections too.

We'll go rain or shine. Macau may have different weather. And, as usual, weather reports aren't that accurate by saying there's a 50% chance of rain.

I've been communicating with our member, Mary-lyn Hopper, who lives in Macau. She will meet us when we arrive at the Macau Ferry Terminal. She says you won't have to change to Macau money as the exchange rate is not much difference. And Macau will accept HK Dollars.

    1 · June 14, 2014

    • ron

Yes, you can! Any camera will do. Even a smartphone will take great pictures. Come join us!

      2 · June 14, 2014

Yes, agree with Ron. It's not the camera which makes great shots but the person who holds it like a painter and its brushes!

Would love to join...but I am heading to Europe for a bit on that day....8-(
