Glass Etching

We'll be using Armor Etch to etch the outsides of whatever glass object you would like to bring. Some ideas are wine glasses with initials on it, a cake dish with a design, a casserole dish with your name on the bottom, a mirror or piece of picture frame glass with a tribal design. This quick and easy project is perfect for personalizing gifts or creating a last minute present!

You will need to bring: something glass or a mirror, a piece of art that you would like on the glass or mirror (simple is better for this--think clip art, big letters, or simple silhouettes),  a small box cutter/razor (you'll be cutting your design out of contact paper with it so something you can grip), surgical gloves if you have sensitive skin.

I'll provide the Armor Etch, contact paper, paint brushes, some sample images, and a few of the Armor Etch stencils for people who want to try those, and a timer.

You'll soon be addicted to creating these quick, special gifts! No glass in your house will be safe after this workshop!

I enjoyed learning glass etching as well as chatting with the ladies. Too bad we were all so absorbed that we forgot to take pictures.

I was really glad to attend the glass and see how glass etching is done. I went by Michael's and got some etching cream to practice.

Unfortunately I cannot attend- I hadn't realized before yesterday evening (Friday 11/15) that my family has planned for us all to attend the Durham Food Truck Rodeo at that same time (Sunday mid-afternoon.) Bummed.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
