June: Paper Quilling

Teresa Vales will show us basic quilling techniques by making one of these cards. You can pick the 4 motif designs and colors you like. We will provide the card and paper needed. We are asking $4 that goes toward supplies and meetup fee. We will use a slotted quilling tool to twirl the paper. We have 9 of these tools to share among everyone. If you think you may want your own tool you can purchase one at AC Moore for about $4. Teresa also use a quilling circle sizer pictured below which is optional, but ensures consistent sized petals. I will have some available to share at the class. If you want to have your own I have seen these at AC Moore as well.  AC Moore has a 50% coupon this week.

Bring tweezers if you have them. The pieces are quite small.

I enjoyed learning how to quill, even though I'm not too good at it! I see a pair of quilled earrings in my future! TX very much, Teresa!

This was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I actually had no idea how to do it, but Teresa did a great job of teaching and provided an excellent printout of instructions. My first one didn't turn out very well. I need to practice. Thanks, Teresa!

Big round of applause for Teresa for getting all of the tools, glue, paper, instructions and figuring out a couple of motifs for us to use! Thanks! I know sometimes we don't say it enough! THANKS!

I enjoyed trying Quilling for the first time. Unfortunately it is too miniature of a craft for me. It was hard to thread the quilling tool. It got easier, but didn't make it all the way to easy. It was hard for me to pick up the small pins used to add glue, but I was able to do it. In the end though, I was able to finish a card project. The most fun was meeting the new people. I look forward to meeting you again, maybe at another upcoming crafts class.

I don't foresee trying quilling again, but if there is an interest, I would be willing to teach an origami class. My schedule is pretty open for that. In February I could teach an Origami Heartsclass before Valentines Day. Or, general origami at any other time.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
