DrupalJax June Meetup (#16)

For June we currently don't have a speaker scheduled. I'll update this when we get one but wanted to get the conversation started. Our schedule was to talk about Features in Drupal and I'm currently assigned to give the talk but I'll be out of town for the meetup again this month. I can participate via Google Hangout if we need to but wanted to give an opportunity for someone else to present this month.

Post any ideas or volunteer to give a topic in the comments below. Another thought is trying "Lightning Talks" where each person gets 10 minutes to talk on a topic so we could fit in multiple topics. We talked about this at a meetup a few months back.

Thanks for the recap Jitesh. I'm hoping to be back in action next month. I may have to see this lightning talk about AngularJS again! Hope everyone had a good time and look forward to next month. Currently on the agenda is a discussion on securing your Drupal site. Most likely this will be a remote participant via Google Hangout giving the talk. Let myself or Jitesh know if you have other ideas or would like to volunteer to speak though.

    Hi everyone,

Tonight is the meetup night. Kevin is out-of-town, so I'll fill in for him. We can do lightening talks, or we can also do "Introduction to Module Development". Since Tetiana was asking about both module development as well as payment processing, we can do a sample module that does payment processing ;-)

We'll decide based on what people want.

Oh, I also would like to know more about the Social Media integration with drupal (Facebook login, twitter, etc).

I agree. I'm developing a site now for which this would be extremely helpful!

I think the "Lightening Talks" are a great idea. Best would be to try to fit as many lightening talks in 45 minutes as possible, and then the attendees select a topic that they want to hear more about. The speaker then gets more time to elaborate.

What does everyone think? Please chime in.

Sounds great! We could have a round robin style discussion.

It is good. It is better for me to understand the topic, if speaker would show example in the Drupal website according to the topic.

I forget to post some topics for feature meet ups, that we discussed on the last meeting:
    1) Custom Module Development (Introduction)
    2) Migrate Module. Also can be included Feeds module.
    3) Payments implementation for web forms (PayPal, Authorize.net etc.)

Will be out of town. If you do hangout for the meeting, then maybe I can join that way.
