UPDATE: We found a great place last week to have a picnic and hangout as well as ride the waverunners.  You can drive on the beach nearby the ramp listed below.  The address the best I can tell from Google is 477 Porpoise Point Drive.  There is a road that has a street sign about it that says Loving Lane (not a real road name). You will probably want to drive your 4x4 if you decide to launch there.  Bob is bringing an 11 x 11 tent and small grill.  He said we are welcome to use it if you want to bring some food to grill.

You may still launch at the ramp below and just ride over to the place.  Once you leave the ramp the beach area is almost a straight shot over.

***Please let us know if you are coming and your thoughts, if any on foods to bring.

This weeks meet-up comes from our member Todd, this sounds fun!

I put in at the causeway/vilano ramp, which is about 30 minutes from 95/295 interchange and the inlet is maybe 1/4 mile from drop in. http://goo.gl/maps/dEc8o. I know its a drive from those on the beachside, but if the weather is good and a 2-3' swell, it can be hella fun.

I suggested St. Augustine, because you have the flat waters of the river/inner inlet with some nice beaches to stop and relax/swim on, and weather/surf permitting, can head out the inlet and around the jetties and into where the surf is breaking to pop off some air. Depending on the swell, there's even a good chance the surf will be breaking on the sandbar inside the inlet on Vilano beach.... which is fun because everyone can set up/relax on the beach there while those wanting to wave jump can put on a show.... LOL I sometimes strap a cooler to the back of my GTi, along with a big market beach umbrella, and head over to that beach inside the inlet.... then you can relax and have the skis right there with you.

Was great to meet everyone and have some time on the water with other PWC fans... and how great was having Vilano beach right there with public access? So convenient, and I hope we can get others involved to make a day of it... even those without PWCs..... Sorry that I was not able to stay the whole day... fatherly duties call... hopefully next time!

Unfortunately with school being out I am getting dragged to all types of family excursions but will be able to make it one day.

That's great... I had heard/understood that it required some sort of St. Johns county pass to get on... but great to hear it's publicly accessible... makes it crazy easy to have friends/family join in the fun...

Wow.... that's awesome! I wondered if that was a public access drive on beach or only residents. I will be there, and hopefully will have both skis running, so I should have my friend along as well...can't make it an all day affair for me, as I'll have to watch my son, but will stay and ride/hang out till around noon. Hope the weather gods shine on us... looking forward to meeting you guys!
