What's new in Java 8?

Java 8 has been getting a lot of attention and rightly so. There are lot of additions to the language to get everyone excited.

While Lambda expressions will pull you into the new way of coding, Streams will make sure you don't use your older style ever again.

This release is not all syntax sugar. There are changes to the language, the libraries and the JVM, all with an eye for parallelism and functional style of programming.

There is also a brand new Date Time API, a new Javascript engine and more.

Ran out of time to cover all the topics in agenda. Would like a follow up presentation to complete it and compare with Scala.
