Soto Zen is one of several forms of Zen practice. Our focus is on quite sitting contemplation, shikantaza. We sit for two periods with a brief period of kinhin (walking practice) between. While Soto Zen is an integral part of Buddhist tradition our practice is compatible with any religious tradition or meditation practice. After sitting we will discuss a brief reading. All levels of experience with meditation, Zen, Buddhism, or curiosity are welcome. Sitting is at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Jacksonville on the Arlington Expressway. If you have modest experience with Soto Zen meditation we should schedule an introduction at a convenient time to review both the sitting practice and kinhin practice.
