Please join us for a a fun water adventure tour on Swift Creek Lake via Stand Up Paddleboard.
Certified Instructors from Black Dog Paddle Company will provide a Basic Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) class to make sure we are safe, comfortable and efficient while we paddle with a park interpretive naturalist. Discover new worlds just around the bend, watch fish and turtles from a higher angle and learn about the plants and animals native to the park. SUPs are stable and beginner-friendly.
Fees: $25 per SUP Package (SUP board, paddle, life vest and leash). $5 for a tag-along (bring your own SUP, paddle, life vest and leash).
We will meet our instructors and guide at the boat dock at 5:45pm. (Follow signs for the boat dock after entering the park from the main entrance off State Park Road.) You will not need to pay the park entrance fee; tell the park attendant you are registered for a program. Payment in cash (exact change, please) will be made at the boat dock.
Life vests are required for all participants. Minimum age is 13. No pets allowed.
We should arrive back at our vehicles around 8:00pm.
- cash for paddle fee
- water appropriate clothing - expect to get a little wet!
- watershoes just in case
- sunglasses and sunscreen
- bug spray
- change of clothes and a towel, should you desire
Severe weather will postpone/cancel the trip. The park makes the final decision as to whether the trip will be cancelled because of weather, and they will notify me as soon as they are able so I can notify everyone. However, they usually do not make a decision until just before the paddle is scheduled to begin unless the weather is severe and imminent.
I will email the attendees with my contact information the day before the event.
