June 15, 9 am Oregon Hill and Part B Hollywood Cemetery

Question #1: What is it about Catherine Hodges that makes her unique at Hollywood Cemetery?

Hint - What is a vivandiers, sometimes known as a cantiniere?

Question #2: Why is the question of who was the first

Confederate to fall in battle so convoluted?

Come on this hike and you learn the answers and much more.

We will begin at Stuart Circle in the Fan.

Parking is available on the 4th (top) level of the parking structure across Lombardy Street from One Monument Avenue apartments and behind the First English Lutheran Church.

The address of the church is 1603 Monument Ave, Richmond, VA 23220.

Below is a view looking north.  Notice Stuart Circle in the background and One Monument Avenue Apartment to the right.

We will assemble here at the front of One Monument Avenue.

Then hike through historical Oregon Hill

on our way to Hollywood Cemetery.

There we will explore the portion nearest to the James River.

I predict the hike will be about 5 miles and take about 4 hours.

This hike will be unique in that it will be a lot of history and only 4 miles of hiking.  It is a good opportunity for those who are interested in digging deep into the lives of some of Hollywood's most notable residents.

For those who want a longer hike with more moving and less talking this one is not for you.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
