This is the kit that I was talking about with a couple of people at the meeting, but could not think of the name of. Seems like a good deal to me, but I am not sure it'd be sufficient for heavy use. http://www.amazon.com/Interfit-Photographic-Strobies-Portrait-Included/dp/B002IF246I/ref=pd_sim_p_12 Also, in addition to my single Canon 550EX II flash, I use and highly recommend the Yongnuo 560EX III. www.amazon.com/Yongnuo-Professional-Speedlight-Flashlight-Olympus/dp/B00BXA7N6A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=[masked]&sr=8-2&keywords=560ex+iii

They work perfectly with these remote triggers, because they can be triggered wirelessly without having to have a receiver attached. www.amazon.com/Yongnuo-RF-603-Wireless-Trigger-Remote/dp/B00HCB5E74/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=[masked]&sr=8-1&keywords=rf-603+ii

I did not mean to insinuate that the RF-603 II could trigger the Canon 550EX II wirelessly above, because it cannot. I was speaking only of the Yongnuo flashes. :-)

Here is a link to the place Jeff was talking about, which carries a (usually) lesser expensive model of triggers and receievers...as well as my blog...which has links to the equipment I use.

Another fun and informative meeting. I thank Steve for a great program on portrait photography, Marie for being host and Becky for a great photo contest. I also am glad my friend George Ivey is now a member with us.

Great Job on portrait topic... nice meeting as always...hey, who was in charge of the photos?? That could have been smoother. OH, yikes, that was ME. Sorry. Beginners luck, NOT. I realize celebrating our works of art is important and am not taking it lightly. Trust me, I"ll do better next time or you can fire me! My computer is back in my hands now and out of shop so hopefully just working with my own equipment will be helpful. Thanks to everyone for coming out. I like starting off my month with you!

Hi Dean. Absolutely, bring them along. The only restriction is for contest entrance and voting. You need to be a paid member for that.

Joyce, make sure you're on the full site not the mobile one. At the top of the bar there should be a tab marked more. Click on that and you should be able to download the file for the themes

I am not seeing the contest theme for Feb. I looked in Discussions/Message Board. I'm not sure when these are posted. Thanks
